FUGITIVE EMISSIONs SURVEYS

Unintentional equipment leaks in oil and gas facilities, known as fugitive emissions, contribute significantly to methane releases in Canada. As of January 1, 2020, government regulations require duty holders to inspect, report, repair, and take action to reduce fugitive emissions in applicable facilities.

West Country Energy Services’ Fugitive Emission Surveys will:

  • Recover Fugitive Product: Our proactive approach and repair of large volume emitters can significantly reduce fugitive emissions.
  • Data Management: A strong and secure Data Management System is the core of a successful Fugitive Emissions Management Program (FEMP). West Country partners with industry-leading web-based providers to assist clients in managing data, including inventory loss, loss projections, and repair confirmations.
  • Maintain Compliance: West Country partners with our clients to ensure they meet Federal and Provincial Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) requirements. As part of the compliance process, the CNTRAL database is used to ensure an accurate and efficient emission submission.
  • Industry Best Technicians & Technology: West Country utilizes certified technicians, quality assurance / competency programs and regulator approved technology like FLIR’s Optical Gas Imaging cameras and accompanying gas flow measurement tools.

To ensure you meet compliance, we bring industry awareness, integrity and strong partnerships. Our dedicated staff is focused on ensuring you maintain compliance and secure your lost product.

Emissions management FAQs

West Country Energy Services offers comprehensive Emissions Management services to help customers monitor and manage their environmental impact. Our services include emissions monitoring, data management, and compliance support to ensure your operations align with regulatory standards.

The CNTRAL database streamlines the compliance process by prepopulating survey forms with relevant data, simplifying the preparation for government submissions. This reduces the administrative burden and helps ensure accurate and timely compliance documentation.

The frequency of emissions compliance reports depends on provincial regulations and your specific operations. We can help you identify your reporting schedule and provide guidance on preparing your reports in accordance with regulatory requirements. Please refer to the applicable provincial directives for detailed guidance on reporting schedules or consult the above-listed resources.

While we do not submit reports on behalf of our customers, we assist with preparing emissions data and pre-populating compliance survey forms through the CNTRAL database. This helps ensure that all necessary information is accurately documented for your submissions.

For any questions or concerns about emissions regulations, we recommend referring directly to the guidelines provided by the provincial governing body. West Country Energy Services can also offer support and guidance to help you navigate these regulations effectively.
